Cody Longo, popular for his part on Days of Our Lives and Hollywood Heights, died on Wednesday. He was 34. His representative, Alex Gittelson, told the Hollywood Reporter that the actor’s body was found in Austin, Texas. He died in his sleep. His cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
“Cody was our whole world. The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated. He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you,” his wife, Stephanie Clark, said in a statement, which was shared by Gittelson.
“Cody was a dear friend, going back many years before he was a client. My heart breaks for his amazing wife and beautiful kids. He had taken some time away from acting to pursue his music career and spend more time with his family in Nashville, but we had kept in touch regularly, and he was excited to get back into acting this year. Cody was such a loyal, loving and talented person, and he will be greatly missed,” the rep told The Hollywood Reporter.
While the cause of Longo’s death can only be confirmed after certain procedures, the actor’s fans are suspecting that his alcoholism had a role to play in it.
Longo reportedly was struggling with alcohol abuse for many years. He was checked into a rehabilitation center, a family source told TMZ.
“Cody Longo dead autopsy a very strong possibility of Alcohol poisoning,” a Twitter user said.
The 34-year-old’s wife Stephanie, as per TMZ, called the police to conduct a check when she was concerned about his whereabouts. Authorities were forced to kick down the door when Longo did not respond. They found him dead.
Longo’s wife, as per TMZ, said, “He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered.”
