Who is Kent Schaffer? Travis Scott’s attorney in Astroworld Tragedy
Authorities revealed on Thursday that a Texas grand jury has found rapper Travis Scott not criminally at fault for the deadly crowd crush accident. The incident killed 10 people and injured thousands more at his 2021 Astroworld music festival. Kent Schaffer was fighting a legal battle for the rapper.

Who is Kent Schaffer?
Kent Schaffer is a criminal law practitioner with more than 40 years of experience. He offers his knowledge to clients in Houston, all of Texas, and all throughout the country.
His legal career commenced as an investigator for renowned criminal defense attorney Richard “Racehorse” Haynes. Kent followed his legal studies at the University of Houston’s Bates College of Law after working as the chief investigator for three years, receiving his degree there in 1981.

In addition, Kent Schaffer has successfully handled a diverse range of legal and business affairs for numerous entertainers and athletes. His clients have included well-known personalities like Farrah Fawcett, Armie Hammer, Tom Sizemore, and Chace Crawford. He has also represented prominent rappers such as Slim Thug, Scarface, Pimp C, Peso Peso, and Lil Jairmy. Several notable athletes, including Ken Caminiti, Carl Crawford, Alex Caruso, PJ Hall, Tony Norris, and Dante Hall, have also assigned Kent for their legal matters.
Recently, Kent Schaffer was appointed as an attorney by rapper Travis Scott in the Astroworld Music Festival mishap, which led to the lives of 10 people and injured several. Multiple victims succumbed to death from compression asphyxia as a result of the crowd crush.
Kent Schaffer, Scott’s lawyer, in court, claimed that inaccurate depictions of the rapper and his conduct have been made in the case. Schaffer highlighted that Scott interrupted the broadcast three times and was not aware of what was happening while it was happening.

Schaffer after Scott was acquitted of the charges said, “Today’s decision by the Harris County District Attorney confirms what we have known all along — that Travis Scott is not responsible for the AstroWorld tragedy.”
