A floral-shaped ring with an imntrictae
design generated by 12,638 small diamonds has earned a place in the Guinness Book
of World Records, although the creator of the ring has no intention of selling
it just yet, AFP reported.

Named ‘The Marigold – The Ring of
Prosperity’, the ring weighs a little more than 165 grams or 5.8 ounces.

Explaining it as a dream project, 25-year
old Harish Bansal, according to AFP, described the ring to be both ‘wearable
and comfortable’.

According to Bansal, the idea occurred
to him while studying designs in the Western Indian city of Surat, largely proclaimed
as the diamond hub of India.

“My target was always more than
10,000 diamonds. I trashed many designs and concepts over the years to finally
zero in on this,” AFP quoted Bansal as saying.

With Bansal’s company adding that each
petal in the eight-layer flower design was unique, he claimed that he has
already knocked back several prospective buyers.

The previous record, also from India,
was from a ring made of 7,801 diamonds.
