Cristiano Ronaldo set for a comeback against Spezia
- He tested positive for COVID-19 in early October
- The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has missed four games for Juventus
- He will not play Sunday's game against Spezia
Star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has recovered from coronavirus but he will not play Sunday’s game against Spezia, AFP reported quoting Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo.
“The negative result of the second swab has also arrived, so today Cristiano Ronaldo will be called up to the team,” said Pirlo.
He added Ronaldo has been training individually from this morning.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has missed four games for Juventus, including the midweek Champions League defeat against Barcelona.
Ronaldo stirred a controversy even before testing positive by travelling to Portugal while Juventus were in isolation after two virus cases.
On his return to Italy on October 14, the day after testing positive, Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora accused the star of “violating” Italian coronavirus measures.
Meanwhile, the Serie A clubs Atalanta, Sassuolo, Crotone and Parma on Friday revealed new cases, AFP reported.
