The Recording Academy announced the nominees for the upcoming 64th Grammy Awards on Tuesday and like every year, the list was full of surprises. Stars who were expected to go big did not make the cut and were snubbed.

While some most expected names failed to make it to the list, some artists received a nomination in the most unexpected category. Let us have a look at some of the biggest snubs of this year.

Bangatan Sonyeeondan famously known as BTS could not make it to the top 4 categories for either Record of the Year nod or Best Artist nod, despite their growing worldwide popularity. However, their nomination for the Best group performance did give them the anticipated recognition.

Gabby Barret, a former ‘American Idol’ star, despite winning an equivalent prize at the ACM awards this year, could not make it to the big 4 category, with her famous album, ‘Goldmine.’ It was indeed a tough nomination for country music as only Jimmie Allen could make it to the top 4 categories.

Lana Del Rey, one of the more usual names in grammy awards, could not get the Album of the Year nod with her latest album, ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club.’ While the producer of the album, Jack Antonoff, has been nominated for the Producer of the Year, the album itself could not meet the expectations one was hoping for.

Chris Staplen, who gained immense popularity for his fourth studio album, ‘Starting Over’, very unexpectedly failed to make it to the Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories. However, he did earn nods for Best Country Solo Performance for ‘You Should Probably Leave’ and Best Country Song for ‘Cold.’

Although the snubs are a regular part of the nominations, all the fans are eagerly waiting for the event that is set to take place on January 31st ,2022 at Los Angeles.
