Everybody wants to avoid the patchy dry skin, also known as xerosis, in winters but most of us fail to do so. The cold weather is the main culprit that rips off all the moisture from the skin and makes it dry, tight and flaky. However, there are some easy home remedies that are proved to make our skin look happy and smooth.

Coconut oil

Massaging your skin with coconut oil is one of the oldest methods to get rid of those flakes. Regular use of coconut oil replenishes our skin by giving it a boost of fatty acids.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has inflammatory properties and improves collagen and elastin levels. Apply fresh Aloe Vera gel on your dry skin and leave it overnight. Use regularly for faster results.

Honey

Most of us know that honey has numerous vitamins, antioxidants and antibacterial properties but we still don’t use it. You can apply honey directly to moisturize the skin or mix it with cinnamon to extract dirt. It can also be used with oatmeal to treat skin dryness.

Olive oil

Use olive oil and sugar scrub to get rid of the dead cells. Mix two teaspoons of olive oil to a half teaspoon of sugar and apply it for some time. Wash it off and feel the result.

Hydrate your body

People usually tend to drink less water in the winter season. It is important that you drink a lot of water and eat fruits and vegetables to keep yourself hydrated.
