The Indian cricket team has a new T20 jersey ahead of the series with Australia and South Africa. The new kit, called the One Blue Jersey, will adorn the Men in Blue in the upcoming T20 World Cup as well.

The pictures of the jersey were shared on Twitter by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday. The One Blue Jersey reminded cricket fans of the early 2000s era when a similar lighter shade of blue used to be the trademark of the Indian cricket team.

Along with the new design, BCCI also unveiled MPL as the new kit sponsor for team India. However, ed-tech brand Byju’s continues to be the title sponsor for the Indian cricket team.

The men in blue will feature in the One Blue Jersey for the first time in the T20 clash with Australia in Mohali on September 20. The three-match series against Australia will see the Rohit Sharma-led team return to action for the first time since their awful performance at the Asia Cup 2022.

However, the fact that Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has tested positive for Covid 19 has increased concern for the Men in Blue. he has since been replaced by Umesh Yadav, who last played a T20 for India in February 2019.

Although the fans are worried that Shami’s absence will cause problems for India, captain Rohit Sharma has said that Umesh Yadav is a good option with the new ball. He has also said that Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the team is good news.

The fans are keen to see the Men in Blue back with a bang in new colours in the three-match series against Australia.

Along with the men’s cricket team, the Indian women’s team will also feature in the One Blue Jersey.
