Tejashwi Yadav uses ‘General Dyer’ reference to slam Bihar Deputy CM over Munger firing

Condemning the firing by police in Munger, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday slammed Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi over the alleged clashes between Bihar police and the people involved in the incident, ANI reported.
“We condemn firing by police in Munger, in which 1 person was killed. This double-engine govt definitely had a role in it,” Yadav said.
On Monday, an 18-year-old man was killed and some were injured in firing after clashes occurred during the immersion of Goddess Durga, a day before the first phase of polling in the district and some other parts of the state.

“We want to ask Dy CM Sushil Modi, who gave permission to become General Dyer?” Yadav asked as the polling started on 71 seats in Bihar.
He has also demanded a High Court committee-monitored probe seeking strict action against the accused.
Meanwhile, Modi said the Election Commission should take cognisance of the incident and initiate action against the culprits.
Munger District Magistrate Rajesh Meena said the police were also fired on. The DM and the district police chief visited the area and said the situation was under control.
