After banning President Donald Trump from its platform, Twitter blocked Trump’s attempt to tweet from his official President’s account, AFP reported. Hours after the social media giant had banned his official account, Trump tweeted from @POTUS account, which is the institutional account of the President of the United States.

In a now-deleted series of tweets, Trump accused the company’s employees of coordinating with “the Democrats and the Radical Left” in removing him from the platform, to “silence” him, ANI reported.

Twitter on Friday banned the President from its platform citing “the risk of further incitement of violence.” Earlier, the platform had banned him temporarily following Wednesday’s violence at Capitol Hill, in which four people and an officer died.

However, institutional accounts like @POTUS and @WhiteHouse are still active.

Taking to his @POTUS account, Trump tweeted that Twitter might be a private company, “but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long.”

The law protects platforms like Twitter and Facebook from being held liable for their users’ posts.

“I predicted this would happen,” Trump tweeted, adding that he was negotiating with various sites and a “big announcement” was awaited.

Trump, who was a businessman before he assumed the Oval Office said he was looking at “possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future.”

“We will not be SILENCED! Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH,” the President said.

“They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely…STAY TUNED!” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, the social media platform Facebook had made a similar call and extended the suspension of Trump’s account indefinitely.
