US records over three million new COVID-19 cases in November

The United States has already witnessed more new COVID-19 cases in November than any other month during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the tally of Johns Hopkins University, reported CNN.

The country has recorded more than three million new COVID-19 cases between November 1 and 22. This makes up around the quarter of all US cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

As per the data by John Hopkins University, the number of daily new cases rose by 25% this week, compared to the previous week.

As far as the situation of the healthcare system is concerned, nearly 83,227 patients related to COVID-19 were hospitalized on Saturday, according to the Covid Tracking Project. These were record-breaking hospitalizations for 12th consecutive day.

According to the running tally of Johns Hopkins University, the world’s largest economy has registered 12.2 million cases of COVID-19 and the death toll has reached 256,725.

Globally, the deadly disease has caused 58.5 million infections while 1.3 million have died of it.
