Amber Heard teases role in ‘Aquaman 2’ after rumours of getting fired from film
- Several publications reported in February that Amber Heard was fired from her role in 'Aquaman 2'
- Amber is currently engaged in a legal battle with her former husband and actor Johnny Depp
- 'Aquaman 2' is scheduled to release in December next year
American actor Amber Heard, who will next be seen in ‘Aquaman 2’, posted a tweet on Saturday teasing her role in the film. The 34-year-old actor will reprise her character ‘Mera’ from the first movie.
Amber’s tweet included a picture of her posing with a novel on the set of the first Aquaman film. “Before Aquaman took the last pages out of this book,” she captioned the image with ‘#gettingakindleforaquaman2 @aquamanmovie.’
Notably, several publications reported in February that Amber was fired from her role in ‘Aquaman 2’. However, she denied the rumours and alleged that there were ‘paid campaigns’ to try and get her fired, according to a Daily Mail report.
Amber is currently engaged in a legal battle with her former husband and actor Johnny Depp. Johnny filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber after she accused him of domestic violence. The defamation trial is scheduled to take place on April 11, 2022.
‘Aquaman 2′, which is scheduled to release in December next year, will feature Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Amber in lead roles. The franchise is based on DC Comics’ character of the same name.
The first film hit the theatres in 2018 and won the award for Most Popular US Film in China in November 2019 during the Chinese American Film Festival. It was a superhit film worldwide and grossed $1.148 billion.
