The Barchalla assembly constituency is currently held by BJP MLA Ganesh Kumar Limbu, who defeated Tanka Bahadur Rai of Congress in 2016. The seat, one of Assam’s 126 assembly constituencies, falls under the Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency.
