Rani Pakshalika Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won from the Bah assembly constituency defeating Madhusudan Sharma of the Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of 24,235 votes.

Bah assembly constituency has Rani Pakshalika Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taking on Manoj Dixit of the Indian National Congress (INC), and Madhusudan Sharma of the Samajwadi Party (SP) this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Rani Pakshalika Singh had won the Bah seat in 2017, when the BJP swept Uttar Pradesh winning 312 of UP’s 403 assembly seats. Singh had beaten his closest rival Madhusudan Sharma by over 23,000 votes. Madhusudan Sharma had contested that election on a SP ticket.

In 2012, the seat was won by Raja Mahendra Aridaman Singh of the SP.

Bah falls under Agra district and the Agra Lok Sabha constituency, which is made up of five assembly seats – Etmadpur, Agra North, Agra South, Agra Cantt., and Jalesar.

The Bah assembly constituency will vote in the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on February 10, 2022, along with 57 other constituencies in 11 districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 3.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
