‘Bandish Bandits’ actor Amit Mistry dies of cardiac arrest

Amit Mistry died of a heart attack on Friday morning, as per various media
reports.

Reportedly, the actor’s manager
Maharshi Desai said that he had spoke to Mistry’s mother, who confirmed his
death. Mistry suffered a grave heart attack at his Andheri residence in Mumbai,
and died before his parents before they could do anything.

The actor was known for his roles in
various films such as Yamla Pagla Deewana, 99, Shor in the City and A
Gentleman, as well as his recent appearance in popular Amazon Prime web series
Bandish Bandits.

“I am in complete shock myself. He
was all well and was at his home only. He didn’t even complain of any health
issue. Post breakfast he felt an ache in his heart and it was a heart attack
and his family couldn’t even take him to the hospital. It is a big loss for the
entertainment industry to lose an actor like him and I will miss working with
him,” Desai was quoted by Times of India as saying.

Several people associated with the
film and entertainment industry, including singer Swanand Kirkire, film trade
analyst Sumit Kadel, RJ Alok, comedian Vir Das offered their condolences on
Twitter.
