BS Yediyurappa in or out? I’m not the one to decide, says Karnataka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said on Sunday
that he will take an appropriate decision regarding his continuation in the
post once he receives directions from the BJP high command this evening.

“By evening once it comes, you will also get to know
about it, once it comes, I will take an appropriate decision,” Yediyurappa
said in response to a question whether the directions from the party high
command in Delhi were expected today, reports PTI.

On the question of whether pontiffs will hold a mega
conclave in Bengaluru on Sunday in his support, Yediyurappa said, “there is no
need for pontiffs to hold any meet, I have confidence in PM Narendra Modi, Home
Minister Amit Shah and BJP national President J P Nadda.”

Scores of pontiffs are expected to gather in a mega
conclave on Sunday at a time coinciding with BJP making its decision on
Yediyurappa’s potential exit.

Dingaleshwar Swamiji of Balehosur mutt, had held a press conference
on July 23 to announce the conclave. Although he had refused to connect the
event directly with the possible leadership change, the event is widely being seen
as an attempt to drum up support for Yediyurappa and send out a message to the
BJP in Delhi.

Upon being asked if a Dalit Chief Minister will replace
him, Yediyurappa said, “I’m not the one to decide about it, it is for the high
command to decide.

Recently, Yediyurappa indicated that Monday might be his
last day in office. He had recently said that based on instructions central
leaders give him, he will get on with his work on July 26.

Yediyurappa
is currently overseeing relief operations in rain ravaged Belgavi.
