Commonwealth Games 2022 day 4: Preview, schedule and timing in India
- Amit Panghal won the silver medal at the previous edition of the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia
- The Indian judo squad will begin their CWG campaign on Monday
- Two more Indian weightlifters will be aiming for medals on Monday
The Commonwealth Games 2022 has been nothing but extraordinary for India. The country won its first medal on the second day, when Sanket Sargar clinched the silver medal. Tokyo Olympics medallist and CWG veteran Saikhom Mirabai Chanu also impressed everyone by winning the country’s first gold medal in the edition.
The third day also saw India put up a memorable display, but day 4 will offer even more to the Indian fans, who are waiting patiently for more good news. Let’s take a look at a brief preview of Indian athletes who will be in action on day 4 of the Commonwealth Games 2022 and when their events will be shown in India.

Swimming
A national record holder, Sajan Prakash will once again be in action as he will participate in men’s 100m butterfly heat 6 on Monday. The event will begin at 3:51 pm IST on August 1.
Boxing
One of the most followed disciplines at the Commonwealth Games, the boxing contingent will once again be in action on day 4 of the mega-event.
Star Indian boxer Amit Panghal will take on Vanuatu’s Namri Berri in the men’s flyweight (over 48kg – 51kg) round of 16. The bout will begin at 4:45 pm IST.
Mohammed Hussam Uddin will face Bangladesh’s Md. Salim Hossain in men’ featherweight (over 54kg – 57kg) round of 16 from 6 pm IST.

Light heavyweight boxer Ashish Kumar will also face Nieuan Travis Tapatuetoa from 1 AM in the night.
Judo
Indian judokas will begin their campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Monday. The event will begin at 2:30 pm IST and will continue till 6:30 pm IST.
Star Indian judoka Sushila Devi will face Malawi’s Harriet Bonface in women’s 48kg quarterfinal in the first match of the day. The second Indian female judoka, Suchika Tariyal, will also be in action when she takes on Rita Kabinda of Zambia in women’s 57kg elimination round of 16.

Among the men, Jaleen Singh Saini will face Vanuatu’s Maxence Cugola in the 66kg elimination round of 16. Meanwhile, Vijay Kumar Yadav will take on Mauritius’ Winsley Gangaya.
Weightlifting
Two more Indian weightlifters will be aiming for medals on Monday. Ajay Singh Sekhawat will be participating in the men’s 81kg event from 2 pm IST. On the other hand, Harjinder Kaur will be competing in the women’s 71 kg event from 11 pm IST.
