The Congress government in Rajasthan was pushed to the verge of collapse last month when state party unit chief and deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot revolted against CM Ashok Gehlot. Pilot, who claimed the support of 18 MLAs, turned down all rapprochement efforts by the party leadership.
The stand-off finally ended last week with all MLAs returning to the party fold and a committee being set up to look into their grievances. Pilot and Gehlot finally met at the Congress Legislative Party meeting in Jaipur where both were seen shaking hands and smiling after over a month.
