Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Sunday, addressed the state via video conferencing amid several criticism that he is facing regarding the recent activities of civic body under him and the Shiv Sena. In his address, Thackeray assured the people of the state that he will balance both the pandemic and political crisis in the state.

The Maharashtra government is being criticised for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic as the case tally in the state has already crossed the one million mark. Thackeray said, “Whatever political storms come, I will face… I will fight coronavirus too.” He added, “Over the last few days, we have done a lot of work (on coronavirus)… we will fight the political crisis too.”

Last week, six Shiv Sena workers allegedly assaulted retired navy officer Madan Sharma after he forwarded a cartoon mocking Uddhav Thackeray on social media. The people involved were arrested and later granted bail.

On the other hand, the ongoing spat between actor Kangana Ranaut and the Shiv Sena is constantly escalating after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished a portion of the actor’s Mumbai bunglow, alleging that it was built illegally.
