CSK member accidentally picks up mans oxygen concentrator meant for ailing father
- Anwar, carrying an oxygen concentrator for his father, was not able to locate it in the baggage belt of the Delhi airport
- Reportedly, one of the members of the Chennai Super Kings had picked it up
- The squad, realising the issue, called the airport staff on April 27
An apparently comic, but also serious
case of misplacement occurred on Wednesday, as the oxygen concentrator belonging
to a man and meant for his ailing father, was picked up by a member of the IPL side
Chennai Super Kings at the Delhi Airport.
Anwar, who boarded the flight from
Bengaluru to Delhi with an oxygen concentrator for his father as check-in baggage,
was not able to locate it in the baggage belt, according to various media
reports.
“The staff informed me that it could
have gone to the cargo section which is different from the passenger section.
They said they could not go there, and would send someone to check. They sent
me away at the time, I was not ready to leave otherwise,” Anwar was quoted by
The News Minute as saying.

After a back-and-forth between Anwar
and the authorities that ensued for nearly 24 hours, a picture of the device
was sent to him by one of the airport officials, asking for confirmation.
Reportedly, the concentrator, while
landing in Delhi through the same flight, was picked up by a member of the Chennai
Super Kings squad, instead of Anwar.
The CSK squad had landed in Delhi for
their match on April 28.
While players take a chartered flight,
usually other CSK members travel in regular, commercial flights.

While the players are only able to
take their necessary, personal belongings with them, all other luggage is
transported separately, and then kept in a room in the venue for 24 hours for
sanitisation.
According to TNM, the CSK squad
realised on the night of April 27 that they had an extra piece of luggage, and
contacted airport staff, who also confirmed the misplacement through CCTV
footage.
