‘Doing great’: Rap legend Dr Dre after suffering brain aneurysm

Hip Hop legend Dr Dre, who was hospitalised on Tuesday after suffering a brain aneurysm, confirmed that he was “doing great” and is “getting excellent care”.
Taking to Instagram, the rapper and producer said, “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
Dre is considered one of the most influential hip-hop artists of all time. Born Andre Young, the 55-year-old rose to fame with the groundbreaking rap group NWA, from Compton, California.
He is also known for grooming the careers of a number of hip-hop greats such as Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
His hospitalisation comes amid a high profile divorce with his long-time partner Nicole Young. The music mogul was admitted at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The news triggered an outpour of concern on social media.
“GET WELL DR DRE WE NEED U CUZ,” Snoop Dogg wrote in an Instagram post.
“Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre,” NWA co-founder Ice Cube wrote on Twitter.
