Everyday Life, Folklore among 2021 Grammy nominations for Album of the Year

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, one of the most
anticipated events of 2021, is just around the corner. But, its nominations
have already been disclosed.

Nominations for Album of the Year include albums by
top-notch artists like Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, and Post Malone.

Chilombo by R&B queen Jhené Aiko, Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition) by
Black Pumas, Djesse Vol,3 by Jacob Collier, Hollywood’s Bleeding by Post Malone
and Folklore by Taylor Swift have saved their spots on the nomination list of
Grammy for the Album of the Year.

Jhene
Aiko’s album ‘Chilombo’ for the first time, incorporates sound healing as every
track is infused with crystal alchemy singing bowls, known to heal people physically
and mentally.

“[Performing] is my favorite
thing to do; I could do that for my whole life, just be an artist who tours for
the whole year”, Aiko said.

Black Pumas, the Austin-based
psychedelic soul band, grabbed their spot in the nominee list, owing to their
debut album Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition) released in 2019.

British
band Coldplay left everyone astounded as their album ‘Everyday Life’ got
nominated for the Album of the Year. The album was released late last year.
Coldplay won its first Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2002 for its debut album Parachutes.

British prodigy and
four-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier has yet again stolen hearts with his album
Djesse Vol. 3. This album enabled him explore negative
space type sounds, sounds made in the digital sphere, electronic stuff and
compose funky music,  he told Grammy.

Women in Music
Part III by Haim has also made its cut to the Grammy nominations, which is a
first for a female group.
  

The album ‘Future Nostalgia’, which was released in the beginning
of the coronavirus pandemic, has garnered Dua Lipa a seat in Grammy nominations
2021.

Taylor
Swift has added to already impressive number of Grammy nominations with her
album ‘Folklore’ getting nominated for Album of the Year.

The
2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by “The
Daily Show” host and GRAMMY-nominated comedian Trevor Noah,
will air on January 31 on CBS.
