‘Delhi Chalo’ Protest Day 8: Next meeting date set for Dec 5 as fourth-round talks inconclusive

After the inconclusive fourth-round talks with the Centre, regarding the newly-formed farm laws, the next meet date has been set for December 5. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh met with Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi today.

The protest by farmers, under the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) banner, protesting against the three farm bills, entered Day 8 on Thursday.

The three farm Bills, namely the Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020, were passed in September.
