Former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi retains Imamganj constituency

Imamganj is one of the 243 legislative (Vidhan Sabha) constituencies in Bihar. It belongs to the Aurangabad parliamentary (Lok Sabha) constituency of the state. Imamganj is located in the Gaya district. This constituency is one of the seats of the legislative assembly that is reserved for the representation of scheduled castes. 

Jitan Ram Manjhi, former chief minister of the state, was once again elected from the constituency in 2020. He was the sitting MLA from Hindustani Awam Morcha from the constituency. Manjhi, who served as 23rd CM of Bihar from May 2014 to February 2015, had also contested elections Mukhadumapur in 2015 but lost to Subedar Das of RJD. 

From Imamganj seat, Manjhi, the president of HAMS, defeated Uday Narain Choudhary of Janata Dal-United by a massive margin of 29,408 votes.
