The price of fuel saw a spike on Monday with the petrol in Delhi noted at Rs 96.9 litre while diesel remained steady at Rs 87.28 per litre.
Bhopal saw a massive hike in petrol rates of Rs 104.59 per litre and diesel at Rs 95.91 per litre.
Following Bhopal, the petrol price in Ladakh stands at Rs 101.95 per litre and diesel at Rs 93.90 per litre.
Mumbai also witnessed a spike with the petrol rates at an all-time high of Rs. 102.58/litre and price of diesel at Rs 94.70/litre.
Auto fuel retains the record-high rates in the financial capital of the country with the petrol rates crossing over Rs 100.
The petrol price in Kolkata rose to Rs 96.34/litre and diesel to Rs 90.12/litre. Following the spike in fuel price, Chennai witnessed the petrol price at Rs 97.69%u2019litre for petrol and Rs 91.92/litre for diesel.
The central and state government taxes make up for 60% of the selling price of petrol and 54% of diesel. The union government takes Rs 32.90/litre on petrol and Rs 31.80/litre on diesel in the form of excise duty.
