Gold, silver and other metal prices on Thursday, March 17, 2022

  • Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,464.00 per 10 gm, up 317.00 points or 0.62%
  • Silver futures were trading at Rs 68,136.00 per kg, up 832.00 points or 1.24%
  • Platinum was trading at $1,014.43 while palladium was trading at $2,468.81

Gold prices increased in international markets on March 17, levelling out following a tumultuous session, as investors reviewed the Fed’s quarter-point increase in its benchmark rate, which it had kept near zero since the global crisis struck two years ago and circumstances surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and sanctions imposed on Moscow.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 51,464.00 per 10 gm, up 317.00 points or 0.62%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 68,136.00 per kg, up 832.00 points or 1.24%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,932.22 per oz. Platinum was trading at $1,014.43 while palladium was trading at $2,468.81. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 50,110 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 67,182 per kg on Wednesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 800.20 up 0.21% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 2,658.00 and Rs 264.10 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

The rate of 24-carat purity in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata, 10 grams of it is being procured at Rs 51,600. The same quantity of 24-carat gold in Chennai is being sold at Rs 52,280, today.

In Kerala, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 47,300. Likewise, in Vijayawada, Mysore and Visakhapatnam, 22-carat purity of the same quantity stands at Rs 47,300 today. Moreover, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is being bought at Rs 51,600 in all these above areas.

In Pune and Ahmedabad, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is valued at Rs 47,350 and Rs 47,360, today. Similarly, the same amount of 24-carat purity is being sold at Rs 51,650 and Rs 51,660 in the two western cities.

In Jaipur, Nagpur and Madurai, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 37,450 Rs 47,380 and Rs 47,920, respectively. Moreover, 24-carat purity of the same quantity stands at Rs 51,750, Rs 51,680 and Rs 52,280 in the three cities.
