‘I saw my table shaking’: Twitterati share earthquake horror

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Punjab’s Amristar at 10.34 pm on Friday as the tremors were felt in Delhi, Noida, Jammu, Punjab, and other parts of northern India. The powerful tremors prompted people to rush outside their homes in Delhi, Jammu and other states.
Soon after the tremors were felt in the national capital and Delhi-NCR, the hashtag started trending on Twitter as Twitteraties across the nation started tweeting about tremors.
According to the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 hit Tajikistan at 10.31 pm, which was the epicentre, the tremors of which were felt across north India.

Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah, in a tweet, said, “Reports of the epicentre being around Amritsar. Hope no major damage or any loss of life.”
In another tweet, he said, “I grabbed a blanket & ran. I didn’t remember to take my phone & so was unable to tweet “earthquake” while the damn ground was shaking.”
There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
