Honda to soon discontinue Civic and CR-V in India
- Honda India has decided to move its entire production unit to the Honda Tapukara plant in Rajasthan
- The company only sold about 850 units of the Civic in the last six months
- It sold a little over 100 units of the CR-V
Automobile giant Honda is all set to discontinue its flagship models- the Civic Sedan and the CR-V SUV- in India, according to media reports.
The announcement came after the automobile giant decided to move its entire production unit to the Honda Tapukara plant in the Alwar district, Rajasthan and end the production at its Greater Noida plant.

“Due to the stoppage of production in Greater Noida Unit, there will be no production of CR-V and Civic as both these models cannot be made in Tapukara plant, which was conceived as an integrated plant with high efficiency to produce small and mid-size cars,” Honda Cars India spokesperson told carandbike.
Notably, Honda only sold about 850 units of the Civic and a little over 100 units of the CR-V in the last six months in the country. Honda Amaze continues to be its top-seller in India at about 5,000 units a month, while the Honda Jazz accounts for nearly 700 units a month, on an average.
The Honda Civic had a price range of Rs 17.9 lakh and Rs 22.3 lakh, whereas the CR-V was priced from Rs 28.27 lakh to Rs 29.50 lakh.
