The auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri was celebrated with great fervour at the headquarters of the Isha Yoga Foundation in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore, on Thursday. Devotees were immersed in a display of music and dance along with meditative experiences in the iconic presence of Adiyogi.
With strict hygiene and social distancing norms, the all-night event, with a fraction of the annual crowd in attendance, was one of the most unique in appearance but no different in its celebratory mood.
The event – which boasted an impressive line-up of artists, discourses chants, and meditation sessions with spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev – was also attended by thousands online.

The Midnight Meditation with Sadhguru lived up to its promise as did Sadhguru’s discourse and Q&A.
The event was preceded by the Linga Bhairavi Yatra to Nandi at the Isha Yoga Center. Fiery and passionate, the Yatra is a representation of the Devi’s qualities and culminates in the Maha Arati.
The Yatra was followed by the Panchbhuta Kriya performed by Sadhguru. The ritual helps to better integrate the five elements into one’s body.
Jaw-dropping fire dance performances stunned the audience, creating a powerful atmosphere at the Isha Yoga Center.
Sadhguru planted a sapling and lit the Mahayoga Yagna that symbolizes his wish and Isha’s mission to bring one drop of spirituality to everyone on the planet.
Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, the spectacular sound and light show, left the audience spellbound.
“Let this night not just be a night of wakefulness, let this night be a night of awakening for you,” Sadhguru, Founder-Isha Foundation, said while speaking about the immense spiritual possibilities of the auspicious night.
Sadhguru launched a missed call campaign to free Tamil Nadu temples from the government rule. People voiced their support by holding placards and giving thumbs up to the cause.
A gala cultural menu unfolded at the venue led by Isha’s homegrown music and dance troupes.
Sadhguru consecrated 3 million Rudrakshas which will be delivered free of cost at people’s homes.
