India to host first-ever digital couture fashion week with ICW
- India Couture Week (ICW) celebrates the best of made-to-measure designs on runway by known fashion designers
- This year, the fashion week will go digital
- The event is organised by country’s apex fashion body Fashion Design Council of India(FDCI)
India Couture Week that has given some of best trends in couture and bridal
segment in the country will go digital this year. The six-day event, organised
by Fashion Design Council of India(FDCI) will take place from September 18 till
September 23.
In keeping with the new reality, the FDCI has taken prompt strides, for a
robust digital transformation and this
will give an opportunity to designers to reach savvy audiences, and explore
interesting ways of showing collections, reads a statement released by FDCI.
“The FDCI has been
a frontrunner in establishing a fresh template, in tandem with the changing
times. Couture has all the elements of fantasy, and as screens take over our
lives, we hope to recreate the magic of this genre, with pure creativity. We
are delighted to partner with Hindustan Times, as we immerse in a world of both
print and digital,” said FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi.
The event that will take place in association with in
association with Hindustan Times, will see the participation of designers like Amit Aggarwal, Anju Modi, Dolly J, Falguni Shane Peacock, Gaurav Gupta, JJ
Valaya, Kunal Rawal, Manish Malhotra, Rahul Mishra, Reynu Taandon, Shantanu
& Nikhil and Suneet Varma.
The event will have top couturiers, showcase their couture films/videos and
supporting content, that will go live on a preset show schedule, emulating the
format of a physical event. These films will be streamed on FDCI’s
digital platforms – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the FDCI website,
reads the statement,
The official hashtag
for the event is #DecodingCouture, with the graphic theme of “waves”,
as digital is creating ripples in the global fashion industry.
