England pacer James Anderson on Friday became the third

Vice-Captain Ajinkya Rahane, who was caught on slip, just before lunch on the

Australian and Pakistani pace bowling legends Glenn McGrath
and Wasim Akram, with 949 and 916 wickets respectively, currently lead in wicket-count
ahead of Anderson in the list.

Anderson has also become the first English bowler to accomplish
the feat, with Start Broad, who trails the England veteran with 760 wickets,
being the next active player with second-most number of wickets across formats.
When it comes to spinners, there are three who have picked
up more than 900 wickets so far: Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (1,347 wickets),
Australia’s Shane Warne (1,001 wickets), and former leg-spinner Anil Jumble who
has picked up a total of 956 wickets.

Indian opener Shubman Gill on the very first over of India’s first innings,
levelled himself with Glenn McGrath for dismissing the most number of players for
a duck in Test cricket: 104. The second place is currently acquired by Shane Warne
and Muttiah Muralitharan, each having sent back batsmen with a score of zero
102 times.
