India vs England: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma’s picture from Chennai test triggers meme fest
- Indian bowlers struggled to take wickets on day one of the first Test
- Memes were made on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli checking if the ball went to the ropes
- A meme compared them to characters from hit series 'Mirzapur'
Day one of the first Test between India and England saw Indian bowlers struggling on a flat wicket in Chennai. Skipper Joe Root and opener Dominic Sibley combined for a massive 200-run partnership for the third wicket, after losing two quick wickets before lunch.
As the bowlers had a hard time, India skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma grabbed the attention of social media users for a hilarious reason.
As one England batsman played a shot, Kohli and Sharma could be seen watching if the ball had reached the ropes or not their hands on their hips. This was enough for social media users to start a meme fest with both the cricketers.
India will look to stop England from making a mammoth first innings total. Root, who slammed his third consecutive and 20th ton, punished the inexperienced spin duo Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Nadeem.
