Earlier in the game, a snake was spotted in the stadium. Several Twitter users urged Cricket Assam to look into the matter.
“If the snakes were not enough we have a play stopped due to power cut in one of the Light Tower this is really shameful and embarrassment for Guwahati city after this I’m sure there won’t be any international matches soon in the city , @assamcric has a lot to answer #IndVsSA,” a Twitter user said.

“After the snake invades the field at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati – now light has gone off as the match is suspended temporarily. This series of instances aren’t often witnessed in a single game. Definitely an ‘Only in Guwahati’ moment,” another one tweeted.
“If you are going to have flood lights failure in todays day and age then forget getting another match for some more years,” a third one said.
