IPL 2022 final: Records to watch out for as Rajasthan Royals take on Gujarat Titans
- Rajasthan Royals take on Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 final
- Jos Buttler has scored 824 runs in 16 games this season
- He has four centuries against his name
The Rajasthan Royals will lock horns with the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Here are three ecords to watch out for:
Jos Buttler one century away from Kohli’s feat:
Virat Kohli had scored four centuries in IPL 2016. RR opener Buttler has already scored that many. The Englishman will go past the former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, with five tons, if he gets to the three-figure mark at the finals.
Jos Buttler comes to the final after scoring 89 runs in the first Qualifier against the Gujarat Titans and then smashing a match-winning 106 vs RCB in Qualifier 2.

Buttler 24 runs short of Warner’s tally:
In 2016, David Warner, who was the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s captain then, was one more batter who had an impressive season. The Aussie ended up with 848 runs in 17 matches at an average of 60.57 and strike rate of 151.42. He hit nine half-centuries.
Jos Buttler has already scored 824 runs in 16 games this season. He is 24 runs short of Warner’s tally, which is the second-highest in IPL history. The Englishman is about 150 runs behind the season record of 973 runs (Kohli in 2016).

Gujarat win on debut:
The only side to win in their first season is the Rajasthan Royals. They lifted the cup in the inaugural edition of the IPL, in 2008. The Gujarat Titans, who were one of the two new teams this season, can win on debut.
Hardik Pandya and co finished on the top of the points table. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 1 and made it to the final.
