With this thumping victory, GT strengthened their position on the points table. They now have 16 points from 9 matches.

Chasing the modest target, Gujarat got off to a super start from their opening pair of Wriddhiman Saha (29 off 22 balls) and Shubman Gill (31 off 28 balls). After both the openers were removed by Wanindu Hasaranga and Shahbaz Ahmed,  GT soon lost their captain Hardik Pandya for 3. Five runs short of 100, Sai Sudharsan (20 off 14 balls) was bamboozled by Wanindu Hasaranga.
