Kuldeep Yadav, who has been in and out of the Indian team for the past two years, recorded impressive figures of 3/18 versus the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday. Delhi Capitals managed to restrict the five-time IPL champions to 177/5 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians were off to a flying start. Openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan added 67 runs for the first wicket. Just when the MI skipper had started opening up his arms, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him.

Just after the drinks break, Yadav got Rohit Sharma to pull a flat back of a length delivery. The Mumbai skipper got the timing wrong and was caught at deep mid-wicket.

The chinaman bowler then dismissed debutant Anmolpreet Singh with a loaty full delivery outside off. However, Yadav celebrated the most after he got Kieron Pollard.

The West Indies batsman rocked back and tried hitting Kuldeep Yadav’s for a boundary. But he could not clear the infield and was caught by Tim Seifert.

Talking about his performance after the game, Kuldeep Yadav said that his lengths were good. He further credited Ricky Ponting and Rohit Sharma for his success.

“I have been working really hard and have been talking to Ricky Ponting. Before this also I have been talking to Rohit bhai. I haven’t changed much in my bowling. The variation in pace was because I was in good rhythm,” he said.

Rohit’s wicket was very important. Even Pollard’s wicket was very important as there were still four overs to go when he got out. The wicket is a good one. I was varying my lengths as I knew batters can step out and play it easily here,” Yadav added.
