IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants to celebrate Mother’s Day, players to don moms’ names vs KKR

Lucknow Super Giants players will wear jerseies with their mothers’ names when the play against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the MCA Stadium, Pune on Thursday, the side announced. The IPL franchise is making the gesture to mark Mother’s Day that falls on Sunday, May 8.
LSG are on a three-match winning streak. They will look to strengthen their playoffs chances with a win against Shreyas Iyer and co.

Ahead of the game, the side, one of the two making debut in 2022, posted a video on their social media handle, announcing that the players will don their mothers’ names on the jersies.
“This one’s for you, Maa.” Now THAT’s how you prepare for Mother’s Day – the #SuperGiant way!” the captaion to the video posted on Twitter read.
LSG’s regular jersey is light blue in colour. However, on the occassion of Mother’s Day, it will be grey with the players’ mothers’ names and numbers printed in orange.

The Lucknow Super Giants are placed second on the IPL 2022 points table with seven wins in ten games and 14 points. They will have a chance to leapfrog table-toppers Gujarat Titans, who lost against Mumbai Indians, on Saturday.
