IPL 2022: Nitish Rana fined, Jasprit Bumrah reprimanded for Level 1 offence

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana has been reprimanded and fined 10% of his match fee for breaching the IPL’s code of conduct during a match against Mumbai Indians, a press release said on Thursday.
Rana has faced the penalty for a Level 1 offence.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah has received a warning but no penalty for the same.
“Nitish Rana from Kolkata Knight Riders has been reprimanded and fined 10 percent of his match-fee for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Pune,” the media release said.
“Rana admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction,” it added.
“Jasprit Bumrah from Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL’ Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Pune. Bumrah admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction,” the BCCI said.
“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the release added.
On Wednesday, KKR won the match against MI by five wickets.
Australian cricketer Pat Cummins single-handedly helped the team win by hitting 56 runs in 15 deliveries.

Reacting to Cummin’s performance, MI captain Rohit Sharma said that his team never saw it coming.
“We had the game till the 15th over, but then Cummins was brilliant,” Sharma said.
“Really happy that I was there till the end, Gotta give it to Pat, unbelievable hitting on display on a pitch that was actually very tricky to bat on,” Cummins’ teammate Venkatesh Iyer added.
