Virat Kohli was dismissed for 20 against the Punjab Kings on Friday at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Mayank Agarwal and co won the match by 54 runs. 

Kohli has been struggling in IPL 2022. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain is yet to score his second half-century in the season. His highest score of 58 off 53 balls came against the Gujarat Titans.

Against Punjab, Kohli got a start. He was knocking the ball, hitting two oundaries off Arshdeep Singh in the second over and then a  six off left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar. The 33-year-old became the first batter to reach the 6500-run mark in the IPL. 

In the fourth over, Kohli was dismissed off Kagiso Rabada. The South African pacer cramped the batter with a short of length delivery and the RCB player tried to play the one-legged pull. The ball brushed the glove and then lobs off the thigh pad to Rahul Chahar at short fine.

Virat Kohli was dismissed on 20 runs off 14 balss with the help of two boundaries and a six. As soon as he was dismissed, the former India captain looked up at the sky gesturing “where’s my luck?” The reaction went viral on social media. 

Kohli has so far scored  236 runs in 12 matches at an average of 19.

Royal Challengers Bangalore faced a 54-run defeat. Batting first, the Punjab Kings rode on Jonny Bairstow’s 29-ball 66 and Liam Livingstone’s 70 off 42 to post 200 runs in the first innings. RCB could manage only 155 in 20 overs. Kagiso Rabada ended up with 3 for 21

“He (Kohli) is seeing the lighter side of it, every single way that you can possibly get out, is happening to him. That’s how the game works,” RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis spoke about Kohli after the match.
