SC East Bengal’s wait for their maiden Indian Super League win
continued on Sunday after conceding a goal during the stoppage time in Bambolim,
leading their match against Kerala Blasters to turn into a 1-1 draw, PTI reported.
The century-old Kolkata side nearly secured their first ISL-victory,
but there proved to be heartbreak in store for coach Robbie Fowler, as East Bengal
conceded the equaliser with less than a minute to go before the final whistle.

19-year-old Jeakson Singh kept the ball firmly outside the
area accessible by East Bengal keeper Debjit Majumder, after getting a sublime
cross from Abdul Samad. Both young Indian talents came into the game at the break
to secure a point for the Blasters.
With the result, East Bengal came out of the bottom place
whereas Kerala retained their spot at the ninth position.
Rafique raided the Kerala box taking a through ball from
Maghoma and squared it for a surging Pilkington on his left earlier in the
match, but Kerala’s Bakary Kone, in an attempt to intercept, slided the ball
into his own net, producing the first goal for the Kolkata side in six matches.

Goalkeepers from both sides made some fantastic saves
throughout the match. Debjit Majumder for East Bengal saved a thumping shot
from Australian Jordan Murray close inside the box. Kerala Blasters goalkeeper Albino
Gomes on the other hand, denied EB a chance to score, as his finger touch
denied Maghoma to push the ball past him.
