The 2020-21 season of the Indian Super League is set to start from November 21.Unlike other seasons, it will be played behind closed doors in Goa due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Throughout the years, foreign players have made a huge mark in the league. This time too, there are a host of international players, who are expected to play crucial roles for their teams in the tournament. From several former Premier League players to many players from Australia, this season will have it all.

Let’s take a look at some of the international players this season:

Hugo Boumos (Mumbai City FC)

Last season’s player of the year, Boumos scored 11 goals and 10 assists for FC Goa. The Frenchman will have the company of former Goa teammates Ahmed Jahouh and Mourtada Fall and will be more comfortable than other international players, since he has already played in the league.

Nerijus Valskis (Jamshedpur FC)

Valskis, who had won the golden boot last season, played an important part in Chennaiyin FC’s journey to the finals. The Lithuanian scored 15 goals as well as made six assists last year that was also his debut season.

Roy Krishna (ATK Mohun Bagan)

The Fijian was ATK’s star player last season, helping the team win a third title with 15 goals and six assists. According to Scroll, Krishna has scored more than 100 goals in the A-League and has 29 goals for Fiji as well. ATK Mohun Bagan will be looking forward to him repeating his heroics once more.

Danny Fox (SC East Bengal)

The former Southampton player will play a crucial role for East Bengal, who have had little time to prepare for the tournament. Having spent most of his career in the Championship, his experience will come handy for coach Robbie Fowler.

Cleiton Silva (Bengaluru FC)

The Brazilian will be making his ISL debut this season and has been signed from Thai club Suphanburi. Silva has the ability to play as an attacking midfielder as well as a striker. He is also a natural goal-scorer, having scored 11 goals in his last season in Thailand.
