Mumbai has suspended vaccination against COVID-19 for three days citing lack of doses, reports PTI. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) also announced that the inoculation drive for the 18-44 age group, which was slated to start from May 1, could be postponed too. Across India, COVID-19 vaccine jabs are currently being given to those above 45 years of age.

“The BMC will not hold any vaccination camp on Friday, Saturday and Sunday because existing stock has been exhausted. With this, the civic body is likely to postpone its vaccination drive for 18-44 age category beyond May 1,” the BMC statement said.

The nationwide vaccination for people in the 18-44 age group is scheduled to start from May 1 and registration for the same is open on the CoWin app.

The civic body added that vaccinations would resume if they received fresh supplies.
