Parliament Monsoon Session highlights: Lok Sabha passes 2 bills on agriculture sector, Harsimrat Badal resigns

Union Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal submitted her resignation as Union minister to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) over the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020.
The two bills, moved by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, was passed in the Lok Sabha by a voice vote.
Earlier in the day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed Rajya Sabha on the India-China border row, adding that China has occupied 38,000 sq km of Indian territory in Eastern Ladakh and Pakistan has ceded 5,000 sq km land from Pak Occupied Kashmir to China. ‘Starting a war is in our hands, its end is not,’ Singh said.
