In yet another
turn in the Punjab Congress crisis, 10 Congress MLAs have written to the
party high command on Sunday ‘not to let down CM Captain Amarinder Singh, due
to whose unrelenting efforts the party stands well entrenched in Punjab’,
reports ANI.

Meanwhile, Punjab MPs
from both houses of Parliament are scheduled to meet today in a fresh attempt to
oppose the elevation of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the state Congress chief, NDTV
reported. Sidhu is meeting MLAs in Patiala.

The old-timers of the
party are reportedly upset with the unofficial call to make Navjot Singh Sidhu
the state Congress chief.

The meeting in Delhi poses
a roadblock to the solution arrived at by the Gandhis’ in solving the months-long
infighting in the Punjab crisis.

Saturday saw a flurry
of activity around Punjab Congress leaders as AICC chief of Punjab affairs
Harish Rawat flew in on a chopper to meet Chief Minister Amarinder Singh at his
Mohali farmhouse.

Meanwhile, Navjot Singh
Sidhu met the man he is expecting to replace Sunil Jakhar.

The Punjab Chief
Minister has opposed the move to elevate Navjot Singh Sidhu to the post of PCC
chief. His personal reasons aside, Amarinder has also cited the state’s caste
balance to make his case against Sidhu’s elevation.

However, sources close
to the developments claimed on Saturday night that Amarinder was finally coming
around to letting Sidhu take the post, however with riders and the demand for
an apology.
