Punjab imposes night curfew till April 30; bans political gathering

The Punjab government on Wednesday imposed a night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am across the entire State till April 30, reports ANI. The state government has also banned political gatherings across Punjab. CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that if anyone violates the rule, action will be taken against them under the DMA and Epidemics Act.
Punjab is among the key states that are witnessing an upsurge in coronavirus cases.
Earlier, the night curfew was only imposed in 12 districts of Punjab.
Punjab has also put a cap on the number of people attending funerals, weddings, and cremations as it ordered that only 50 persons can attend indoor events and 100 outdoors. The Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government has also made masks compulsory for employees in government employees.
