Rajib Banerjee resigns as Trinamool MLA ahead of Assembly Polls

Rajib Banerjee resigned as Trinamool MLA, a few days after
quitting the Mamata Banerjee cabinet, PTI reports.
“I resigned from post of MLA today. I’m still member of the party. But I’m not yet mentally prepared to take a step. I believe to do good for people, party affiliation is necessary in dynamic democracy. I’ll tell you of my decision in coming days,” said Banerjee, ANI reports.
Banerjee shared his resignation as the Minister-in-Charge, Department of Forest, West Bengal on Twitter on January 22, 2021.

Banerjee is the third minister to have joined the list of
turncoats after Suvendhu Adhikari and Laxmiratan Shukla, quitting the Trinamool cabinet in the last 75 day.
Banerjee’s resignation comes in light of the West Bengal Assembly
polls 2021.
