India’s top shuttlers Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy on Tuesday tested negative for COVID-19 hours after returning positive results, paving the way for their participation in the Thailand Open after being forced out of the tournament.

Earlier, Nehwal took to Twitter to question her ouster from
the tournament, saying that had not received her COVID-19 test report. She was
confused when she was asked to go to the hospital before warming-up for her
first-round match.

“According to rules, the report should come in five hours,”
she added.

As per initial reports, both the players had tested positive and
were taken to the hospital to be isolated for a minimum period of 10 days.
