The Sakaldiha assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh (UP) saw Devendra Pratap of the Indian National Congress (INC) take on Suryamuni Tiwari of the BJP, Jayshyam of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Prabhunath Singh of the Samajwadi Party (SP).
Prabhunarayan Yadav of the SP had won the seat in 2017 Assembly elections, defeating runner-up Suryamuni Tiwari of the BJP by a margin of 14,969 votes.
In the 2012 Assembly election, independent candidate Sushil Singh had won the seat by defeating the SP’s Prabhunarayan Yadav by a margin of 6,848 votes.

The Sakaldiha assembly constituency falls under the Chandauli district in UP and is one of the five assembly constituencies under the Chandauli Lok Sabha constituency.
The Sakaldiha assembly constituency voted in the seventh phase of the UP Assembly elections in 2022 on March 7, when 54 assembly seats, spread across 9 districts, went to the polls. UP is voting in seven phases, and the last phase was held on March 7.
Results will be declared on March 10, along with results of elections being held in other states and Union Territories (UTs).
