Sameer Khan, Maharashtra minister’s son-in-law, sent to 14-day judicial custody in drugs case

An Esplanade court in Mumbai on Monday sent Sameer Khan, son-in-law of Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik, to 14-day judicial custody in connection with a drugs case, reports ANI. 

Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on January 13 in connection with a drugs case, his remand was due to end on Monday, news agency ANI reports.

According to ANI, the prosecutor had said that the NCB found some evidence from Khan regarding some chats that indicated that he was planning to mix CBD oil and other chemicals with marijuana. 

The NCB is probing a drug nexus in Mumbai, especially Bollywood, which emerged after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Several Bollywood had been summoned by the NCB, a few arrested, in the past months in the ongoing drugs probe.
