Samyukta Kisan Morcha to join Bharat bandh today, urges farmers to protest peacefully

The farmers’ union Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Thursday decided  to join the Bharat bandh called
by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). The farmers’ body has been on the forefront of the anti farm laws protest at Delhi borders.

SKM leaders appealed to farmers to peacefully participate in the demonstration that will be held across India on Friday.

The traders’ and transport unions called for a nationwide strike on Friday to protest against rising fuel prices, E-Bill regime and the complex structure of Goods and Services Tax (GST) system in country.  

 Traders’ body CAIT said that traders and transporters will stage sit-in at 1,500 places across the country and all the commercial markets will remain shut as a part of the agitation.

The All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA) would also extend support to the Bharat Bandh by holding a ‘chakka jam’, said CAIT Secretary-General Praveen Khandelwal.
