Actor-turned politician Shatrughan Sinha’s son Luv Sinha is set to make his debut in politics, as he will contest in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections.
The 37-year-old is the Congress candidate contesting against the BJP’s three-time MLA Nitin Navin from the Bankipore district.
Unlike his father and sister Sonakshi Sinha, Luv had a short-lived acting career. He made his debut in 2010 film ‘Sadiyaan’ and was last seen in 2018’s ‘Paltan’.
Bankipore is part of the Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, that had earlier elected his father Shatrughan to the Parliament, when he was in the BJP in 2009 and 2014.
After he was dropped by the BJP, Shatrughan contested as a Congress candidate last year and lost to Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Bankipore, which is seen as a BJP stronghold, is one of the 70 seats that fell in the Congress’s share in the allocation of seats in the Rashtriya Janata Dal-led opposition alliance.
Luv is the third from his family to contest in the elections as mother Poonam Sinha was the Samajwadi Party’s candidate for the 2019 national election from Lucknow, where she lost to Union Minister Rajnath Singh.
